The places in italics are those who, to the best of my knowledge, have moved up to A+35. The bold numbers are the top 16 active B+ spots that may get called up Sunday.

Because of upgrades there are 6 racers between 61 and 47 points, a difference of just 14 points. For the double points race, a 1st place by one of the top 5 will win the series.Gregg Rouse in 11th has a shot with a win but only if Chris Tauscher places at or below 3rd. Kevin Thompson, with 41 points, also has a chance but he needs a win and people in 5th place on up to finish out of the top 3 . Below that, there needs to be a lot of bad days in the top 10. But hey, it’s cyclocross - anything can happen.

I think that Chris T. and Johnny V. got stays of execution. Maybe Johnny didn’t hear? Maybe he’s decided to move up anyway? Anyway, I heard from Candi that CT and JV weren’t going to have to upgrade for the last race but were to consider themselves A+ racers thereafter.

If that’s the case, it’s still pretty close but people at 7th place and below need to get lucky with how the top end finishes out. Taking the top 5 results, JV would be at 66 (dropping a 9th place finish) and CT at 57 (dropping a 15th).
Still, should be a pretty fun day with all those in the hunt, especially if the rain keeps up.

Stay of execution? What happened to 3 top 3’s and 5 top 5’s? I should have stayed where I was and beat up on those people. Man up and upgrade!!!

With the Hood River race thrown in, it looks like JV does have the 3-3’s. CT is one top 5 away from moving up.
I haven’t spoken with either of them or Candi so anything I say will be pure speculation. At this point in the season, it really doesn’t make much difference to me one way or the other.
Nice win last Sunday Jeff. Looked like you had things in control from the beginning.

Thanks, suprised myself with how that went. Once I got in front, I just had to tell myself to be smooth and go hard when possible. Guess that a good starting spot really worked out. I think we need a better start situation than having to get there 30 minutes before the race start.

I really love all these blogs…
